Gail Martin spent early adulthood in Tsawwassen and has lived in North Delta since 1973 where she raised her now adult children. Having worked for 34 years at Telus, she retired in 2002. Among her many contributions to the Delta Community are Conquer Cancer canvasser, school Parents Advisory group and Sur-Del Scouts Canada, among others. She has also served as a member of the Delta Family Court Committee, Delta Community Services Advisory Committee, Delta Area Planning Committee, Delta Police Board, Delta Police Foundation, BC Labour Relations Board, and most recently, BGC of South Coast BC. She has also been a member of the Finance Committee at Crossroads United Church where she has provided congregational outreach during the pandemic. In 2024 she received King Charles Coronation award and the Paul Harris fellowship, both recognizing the time and life-energy she has invested into community service all her adult life.
