North Delta block party with Neighbourhood Small Grant

Grant, Neighbourhood Small Grant

A culturally diverse neighbourhood in North Delta, ranging from young children to seniors, held a block party on September 7, 2019 simply to bring the local community or neighbourhood together. It was funded by the Neighbourhood Small Grants from the Delta Foundation, with funding from the Vancouver Foundation.

With music playing in the background the neighbours socialized and children played. Some participated in a basket making workshop which became an opportunity for the young children to engage with the seniors in making the baskets or hanging them on the houses and lamp posts. A hockey game between the kids and adults and pizza for all were planned along with a multicultural potluck.
